Transition to School Pre-School Programme for 4 year olds
As part of our transition to school process we operate a pre-school programme called ‘Little Wakas’. It is held on Tuesday afternoons from 1.30-2.45pm and runs for 8 weeks each term with children joining at any time during the term.
‘Little Wakas’ is designed to assist children in making a positive transition into the school environment through:
Building positive relationships within the school
Developing beginning school literacy and numeracy skills
Becoming familiar with the school environment and routines
Although the programme is not compulsory we do encourage parents to enrol their child in at least 2 sessions prior to starting school. To enrol your child in ‘Little Wakas’ please complete the enrolment form found in your enrolment pack or pick one up from the school office. Each session costs $5 (to cover the cost of consumables and stationery items) which needs to be pre-paid.
Please note that a parent/caregiver is required to stay at school during the ‘Little Wakas’ sessions.
