Student Experience
International students are provided with a supportive orientation process. This starts with the opportunity to have a tour of the school for students and parents.
On the student’s first day, they are placed in their home class and assigned a student buddy.
Over the first few weeks, long-term students will be assessed and placed in the appropriate English Language Learners support classes as needed. Teachers will continue to monitor the student during the first few weeks while the student settles into the class and the school.
Wakaaranga School has an ‘Open Door’ policy. Parents may make an appointment to see the classroom teacher or a member of the senior leadership team to discuss any queries or concerns.
Our students are fully integrated into a mainstream New Zealand educational setting, covering all aspects of the New Zealand Curriculum.
Wakaaranga School is currently accepting applications for International Students for long-term and short-term study (5 weeks or more). Applications will be considered for all year groups.
